This is the sixth course in Module 3 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course trains interpreters to work effectively in legal proceedings known as examinations for discovery. Learners will gain an understanding of the purpose, process, and procedures of discovery, along with the specialized skills required to interpret accurately and ethically in a high-stakes legal context. Practical exercises and role-play will prepare interpreters to manage terminology, maintain accuracy under pressure, and communicate effectively with lawyers, witnesses, and reporters.
