This is the fifth course in Module 2 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course is designed to prepare interpreters who will be supporting Partner Assault Response (PAR) programs in Ontario or similar regions. It addresses trauma-informed practice, interpreter neutrality, managing vicarious trauma, and technical skills such as simultaneous interpreting using Zoom.Â
We will cover:
The purpose and structure of Partner Assault Response (PAR) programs. 
Challenges faced by interpreters in PAR settings.
Strategies for trauma-informed and ethical interpreting in sensitive contexts. 
Demonstrate how to conduct simultaneous interpretation using Zoom.
Self-care techniques to manage emotional impacts and vicarious trauma.
