This is the fourth course in Module 3 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course introduces learners to the concept and core skills of simultaneous interpretation. It explores its history, application in real-world contexts, and includes foundational exercises that prepare learners to begin practicing this challenging mode of interpretation.

We will cover:

Simultaneous interpretation and distinguish it from consecutive interpretation.   

The historical development and contexts where simultaneous interpretation is used. 

Basic preparatory exercises including shadowing and dual tasking.
