This is the final course in Module 2 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. In this intermediate, simulation-based course, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned through realistic practices independently and with a language coach and peers.
This course bridges theory and practice by placing you in lifelike scenarios with breakout room sessions and rubric-based self-evaluation.
We will cover:
Consecutive Interpretation in Professional Contexts
Practice interpreting dialogues across real-life situations in healthcare. Practice how to manage tone, register, memory, interruptions, as well as healthcare terminology in mental health situations.
Sight Translation Practice
Improve fluency and delivery by translating written documents aloud. Evaluate yourself using a structured rubric.
Simulated Role-Play with Feedback
Work in Zoom breakout rooms with a Language Coach and peer. Gain perspective and practice with supportive guidance.
