This is the second course in Module 2 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course introduces foundational medical terminology and the structure of medical words to help interpreters accurately recognize, understand, and interpret terminology used during medical consultations, lab tests, and vaccination discussions in healthcare settings.
We will cover:
The structure of medical terms by learning how prefixes, roots, and suffixes combine to create meaning.
 Common terminology used in medical consultations, including symptoms, vaccinations, diagnoses, medical records and tests.
Enhancement of interpreting performance by building confidence in medical vocabulary and applying it in real-world scenarios.
