This is the first course in Module 2 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course is meant to help interpreters build foundational knowledge about how healthcare works in Ontario so they can interpret effectively in medical settings. 

We will cover:

The basic structure of the Ontario health care system. 

The roles of key health professionals and institutions. 

Common healthcare services and how patients access them. 

The interpreter’s role and ethical boundaries in healthcare settings.
