
This is the first course in Module 2 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program. This course is meant to help interpreters build foundational knowledge about how healthcare works in Ontario so they can interpret effectively in medical settings.
We will cover:
Describe the structure of the Ontario health care system.
Identify the roles of key health professionals and institutions.
Recognize common healthcare services and how patients access them.
Understand the interpreter’s role and ethical boundaries in healthcare settings.
Apply basic healthcare system terminology.
