
This is the ninth course in Module 1 of the Community Interpreter Core Training Program.
In this course, participants will explore how to recognize, assess, and manage the risks and liabilities that come with interpreting in diverse, real-world settings. Designed for community interpreters at all levels, this course builds awareness of potential hazards and reinforces the professional boundaries required to deliver safe, ethical, and effective service.
We will cover:
Understanding Risk and Liability
Learn what risk and liability mean in interpreting contexts and why it’s essential to understand the consequences of actions—both intentional and unintentional.
Risk Assessment and Management
Discover strategies to assess and manage risks on assignment, including how to anticipate challenges and protect yourself and your clients.
hands-on practice
Learners will navigate through  risk assessment scenarios where they must choose the best course of action at each decision point, receiving feedback on their choices.
