This course includes 2 sections:

Section 1 explores the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). In line with best practices for workers with access to personal health information, interpreters will receive recommendations and review video segments depicting real-life scenarios.

Section 2 provides an introduction to the concepts of cybersecurity. Topics include security threats, various cyber attacks, and some defense methods and tools.

This course is mandatory and always open to active AL interpreters.

We will cover:

PHIPA Basics

Required training for interpreters by hospitals and medical centres.

INTERPRETERS’ DUTY

Best practices for protection of personal healthcare information.

CYBERSECURITY
